Former Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Katsina Alu gave up the ghost in the early hours of yesterday in Abuja. He died after a brief illness in an Abuja hospital.
Justice Walter Onnoghen confirmed the death of Katsina Alu in a statement yesterday issued by his media aide, Awassam Bassey. “His heartfelt condolences and that of the entire Judiciary to the family of the deceased of former CJN and urges them to take solace in the fact that their late patriarch lived a fulfilled life ”.
President Muhammadu Buhari in his statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu said “the deceased contributed immensely to the structuring of Nigeria’s jurisprudence”.
The deceased hails from Ushongo Local Government Area, in Benue State.
